FIESTA SHOW: Bill Eash

Championship – empty class – Western Pleasure.

Sport Horse up to 57 riders – 54 last year.
Under Saddle up to 37 riders – 25 last year.
Dressage up 30%
Carriage Driving – 2
English Pleasure – one horse a class.
Big thanks to the 42 volunteers who made the show a success.

TREASURY: Bill Eash

A thorough AAHA Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss by Class for the Fiesta Show (July 1, 200t through June 4, 2007) was presented.

YOUTH: Jeanne Hardford

Last Saturday’s swim party at the Hardford’s was a big success & also a mini birthday to Skye Williams.
Youth of the Year Criteria = grades, community service & completion of essay entitled “What does the Arabian Horse Mean to You”. Deadline is June 22/07. Committee Members: Paul M. Valdez, Mary Bell & Donna Doulton.

Silent Auction at Fiesta Show over $1,000.00 made.

Youth are to volunteer over the summer at the Saddle Light Therapeutic Riding Center at Retama.

NEW BUSINESS:

Region 9 – Delegate Meeting – Margo Shallcross is running for board.

Trail Ride: Looking into an August 07 ride – early start 9:00 a.m. Will discuss potential locations & request RSVP.

Volunteer Dinner/Appreciation: All volunteers were given hats from the Fiesta Show. A big thank you to be given at the Annual Meeting. Motion approved for an August 07 (date pending) Appreciation Dinner.

Annual Meeting: Looking into several sites to hold annual meeting. Motion to move Annual Meeting date to Saturday, July 21, 2007 approved. No regular meeting in July.

Ballots: need to have place for Annual Meeting before being able to send out ballots.

OTHER:

Open Show: Mary Bell

Kathy Startuska & Marilyn Short have been responsible for the Open Shows & they are “burning out” due to lack of volunteers to help them with each of the three shows. October show in place & have a judge coming from Dallas which will need accommodations. The Arab Horse needs to be more represented in the shows.

Sport Horse: Bill Eash

Regional Championship Show – motion approved to support Sport Horse & to sell box seats & ads in the program. Proceeds go to to Cooks Children’s Hospital.
Motion to donate $300.00 to Region 9 & $300.00 to support Sport Horse at Region 9.
Motion to use portable arena in Waco, Tx. – dressage ring/equipment. Bill to arrange for transportation.

Echo: Rose Marie Eash

Echo due out this week.
New computer program for surveys.
